Chair
Zach is from West Chester, Pennsylvania but moved to Charleston in 2018. He loves to run, travel and hang with his dogs. His favorite thing about Charleston is all of the hidden nature spots and parks where he can explore while running or walking his dogs.
Heather Walbright
Vice Chair
Heather grew up in Worthington, Ohio, and has lived in Charleston since 2009. She enjoys gardening, hanging with her dogs, and a good outdoor adventure. She loves how there is so much support for all things local in Charleston, and happy to be involved with an organization working to have a positive impact in our communities!
Kelly Rudock
Treasurer
Kelly is originally from the greater Philadelphia area. She loves being active, all sports, exercising, and doing anything outdoors. Her favorite thing about Charleston is probably the weather and the beaches. Kelly also loves shark teeth hunting!
Maura Angel
Secretary
Maura grew up in Southern New Hampshire but has lived in Charleston for the past 3.5 years. Her hobbies include walking, hiking, reading, spending time with her husky Lu, summer beach walks, and exercising.
Marlo Shedlock
Volunteer Coordinator
Marlo grew up on the Outer Banks of N.C. She works as the Adopt - A - Highway Coordinator for Charleston County. Her passions are environmental protection, wildlife conservation, and animal rescue.
Mariah Jurow
Beach Sweeps Coordinator
Mariah was born and raised in Charleston, SC. She decided to get involved with Surfrider because she is passionate about protecting our oceans, waterways, and marine life from debris and plastics. Mariah thinks the best thing about the Lowcountry is that there are beautiful landscapes, amazing historical sites, and charming people everywhere you look.
Jessica Graham
Marketing Coordinator
Jessica grew up in Conway, SC, moved to Charleston in 2008 for law school and has been here ever since. Her favorite things about Charleston are how therapeutic the salty air and sea are and how much life is sustained by our unique Lowcountry ecosystem. Coastal South Carolina has a special place in her heart, and she is so grateful she gets to witness its beauty every single day!
Olivia McCoy
Social Media Coordinator
Olivia is originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She has a lot of hobbies but lately has been learning to surf, making jewelry out of shells and shark teeth that she finds along the beach, creating content for social media, fostering animals at her local rescue, and enjoying pilates. She loves that living here allows her to be so immersed in nature.
Ethan Laramy

Ethan grew up in New Holstein, Wisconsin, and finished high school in Wichita Falls, Texas. He enjoys training and competing in triathlons with the goal to become an Ironman. He calls Charleston home for its warm sunshine, beautiful beaches, and growing entrepreneurial spirit.
Katie Abare
Policy Coordinator
Katie was born in Canada, but spent her childhood in both northern and southern states in the United States, as well as in Munich, Germany for the majority of her high school years. She loves being outdoors. She enjoys biking, running, hiking, and camping. Katie also enjoys painting, photography, and traveling. Her favorite thing about Charleston is living so close to the coast.
Minell Enslin
Ocean Friendly Restaurant Coordinator
Minell moved to Charleston because she and her husband wanted to be closer to family but also because he received a great opportunity to work here in Charleston. On top of all that, she has always loved the ocean and can't imagine not living along the coast. Minell's favorite thing about Charleston is that you can almost always spot a dolphin in many of Charleston's waterways and along the South Carolina coastlines - how cool is that?!
Becky Sheftall
Hold On To Your Butts Coordinator
Becky was born and raised in Charleston and spent most of her time growing up in these local waters. She first became involved with Surfrider while living in Oahu. When she moved back to Charleston, she wanted to be part of a like-minded group of leaders who protect the coastal environments and wildlife, engage and educate the community in a fun and meaningful way, and make positive change. Becky's favorite thing about the Lowcountry is most certainly the coastal lands, marshes, and beaches.
