Motivation to join Surfrider: I grew up on the Outer Banks (OBX) of North Carolina, so loving the ocean and caring about our marine environment is in my blood. After college, I moved home and joined the OBX Chapter. I fell in love with everything Surfrider did and stood for, but soon after returning home, I was hired for a job in Anchorage, Alaska and then Africa. After spending a number of years living away from the beach, I decided I needed to get back to my coastal roots. I choose to move to Charleston, South Carolina and joined the Charleston Chapter, started volunteering, and as they say, the rest is history.
Day Job: I work as the Adopt A Highway / Community Pride Coordinator for Charleston County.
Hobbies: Dogs, talking about dogs, loving dogs, watching videos of dog, sending photos of my dogs to friends, rescuing dogs, Dogs…
Favorite thing about the Lowcountry: Everything! But mostly that I feel more at home here than anywhere I have ever been.
